Adding Details to Our Writing

We are learning to expand upon our writing and add more details.  To begin, there was simply a plain square on the chart paper.  I told them that this is a very plain house.  Each student came up and added one detail to the square to turn it into the house.  This is what we do when we write.  We start with an idea (the square) and add details to it to make it more interesting!
